Study Program History
Telkom University was founded on August 14, 2013, which is a merger of four institutions, namely IT Telkom (Telkom Institute of Technology), IM Telkom (Telkom Management Institute), Telkom Polytechnic, and STISI Telkom (Indonesian College of Art and Design Telkom) to become Telkom University. The merger is based on the Decree of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia Number 270/E/0/2013 dated July 17, 2013 which contains the merger of IT Telkom, IM Telkom, and Telkom Polytechnic, and Decree Number 309/E/O/2013 dated August 14, 2013 which contains the merger of STISI Telkom.
Universitas Telkom pada akhir tahun 2023 ini telah memiliki sebanyak 36.898 mahasiswa, 1.031 dosen, serta telah menghasilkan 74.254 alumni yang tersebar di seluruh belahan dunia. Saat ini Universitas Telkom telah memiliki 52 Program Studi yang tersebar dalam 7 Fakultas yaitu: [1] Fakultas Teknik Elektro (FTE), [2] Fakultas Informatika (FIF), [3] Fakultas Rekayasa Industri (FRI), [4] Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis (FEB), [5] Fakultas Komunikasi dan Ilmu Sosial (FKIS), [6] Fakultas Industri Kreatif (FIK) dan [7] Fakultas Ilmu Terapan (FIT).
Telkom University at the end of 2023 had 36,898 students, 1,031 lecturers, and had produced 74,254 alumni spread throughout the world. Currently, Telkom University has 52 Study Programs spread across 7 Faculties, namely: [1] Faculty of Electrical Engineering (FTE), [2] Faculty of Informatics (FIF), [3] Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FRI), [4] Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), [5] Faculty of Communication and Social Sciences (FKIS), [6] Faculty of Creative Industries (FIK) and [7] Faculty of Applied Sciences (FIT).
Telkom University, especially the Faculty of Informatics, plays an active role as a provider of competent human resources in engineering and development of telematics infrastructure, both in the form of hardware and software, through the establishment of the Bachelor of Information Technology Study Program. By holding the Bachelor of Information Technology Study Program at Telkom University, a forum for developing expertise that is aligned with digital transformation will be formed that can support and answer the national need for Cybersecurity and Digital Innovation. The permit to run the Information Technology Study Program has been issued since August 29, 2016 in accordance with Decree No. 290/KPT/I/2016.
The Information Technology Study Program is a superior study program that has been accredited as Superior by LAM INFOKOM and has received Provisionally Accredited (PA) status from IABEE. The Information Technology Study Program has undergone a change in scientific focus since its inception, namely in the field of networks and enterprise applications. In 2020, the Information Technology Study Program’s scientific focus transformed into the Internet of Things and Cybersecurity. Currently, the Information Technology Study Program emphasizes mastery of knowledge that is more focused on the application of Information Technology, especially in the fields of Cybersecurity and Digital Innovation.
